DNA Evidence of Hebrew Ancestry in the Ancient Americas
Addressing the DNA arguments regarding the Book of Mormon is important because the lack of scientific engagement has encouraged critics (and discouraged members) to incorrectly believe that there are no strong, scientifically valid counter-arguments that show DNA support for the Book of Mormon. As Neal A. Maxwell has said, “Lack of [an argument in defense of a religious belief] destroys belief. … What no one shows the ability to defend will quickly be abandoned.” Unfortunately, many of us know individuals who have lost faith in the Book of Mormon and in the Church because of scientific attacks on the Book of Mormon.
